The most productive people are those who are organized. People’s habits determine their organization. Habits are the natural default that we resort to when we are going through the motions of our days. When you wake up, ask yourself, do you wake-up with a positive outlook? Start off the day with gratitude can change your entire perspective on the decisions you make, the reactions you have and just your overall happiness.

Clean up the kitchen and straighten the house

You don’t have to mop the floors and wipe the windows but it is good that you get your kitchen and house in order. A clean environment helps you to have a quiet and nice morning or evening so that you have the right mindset for keeping the rest of your life organized.

Finish one task before moving to the next

Creative usually struggle with handling different projects at the same time. They start on one and when they are putting the final touches, they have a sudden urge to move on to the next task causing them to leave all their project materials disorganized and scattered all over. Unfortunately, if you keep hopping from one thing to another, you can never be organized or complete a task successfully. So train yourself to do one thing and complete it before moving to the next.

Use your waiting time

Sometimes you find yourself heating something on the microwave or the kettle or maybe waiting for the bus at the bus stop. You can use these few minutes to catch up to something that you need to do. For example, you can respond to an email that you were not able to during the day. There is so much you can get done in those free minutes that you have.

Have a paperwork system

It is important that you have a paperwork system for your home and your office. The actual system differs from person to person but it is a great way to get your paperwork organized so that you don’t accumulate a lot of clutter and unimportant materials.

Make a to-do list

To-do-lists sound quite cliché yet they are great in helping you to get organized. It feels nice to have a list and to keep checking things off the list. It gives you a sense of accomplishment. A to-do list will help you remember what needs to be done and to prioritize the most important activities.

Get enough sleep

improve your sleep

Sleep impacts how organized you are. Staying up late makes you unproductive and lethargic the next morning and messes up your entire day. (2)
